Greenwashing? No thanks!

Greenwashing is not for experts:

Sustainability is a central component of our corporate strategy.

After all, we have been producing PET bottles for over 20 years and rely on our expertise instead of empty promises.

As experts in PET bottle production, we would like to debunk some common prejudices and show why greenwashing is out of the question for us.

PET is 100% recyclable

A widespread misconception is that PET is not recyclable. But the opposite is true. Deposit-free PET bottles can be disposed of via the yellow bag or the yellow garbage can and are thus returned to the recycling cycle via the recycling facilities. Deposit bottles are returned via the deposit machines.

The use of rPET (recycled PET) reduces the need for virgin material and conserves resources. PET bottles are made of 100% PET, which makes recycling much easier compared to composite packaging.

PET bottles and environmental pollution

Finding plastic products in the environment promotes the poor image of all plastic products. However, littering is the real problem. When disposed of and recycled correctly, PET bottles are reused and do not pollute the environment.

We also provide information on the correct separation and sorting of plastic products. In addition, PET bottles are virtually unbreakable and offer safer and longer use, which saves resources. The use of juice and wine bottles made of PET has long proven its worth at events or on airplanes.

Environmentally friendly PET production

Another misconception is that the production of PET bottles is not environmentally friendly. Glass only melts at around 1,400°, whereas PET melts at around 280°. This results in lower energy consumption and a lower CO2 footprint. The low weight of PET bottles also reduces transportation emissions and the CO2 footprint. With every new development, we check the minimum weight of a bottle in order to keep the use of materials as low as possible.

Our production facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to minimize energy consumption and emissions. For example, we use the waste heat from our production to heat our offices and use fully electric company vehicles for necessary errands.

Our commitment to sustainable packaging solutions

At EPROPLAST, #DesignforRecycling is a top priority. Our internal development department is constantly researching new packaging and closures. Reduced material usage, rPET content and mono-material are key topics.

Conclusion

We invite you to see for yourself. Talk to us! We would be happy to explain more about our corporate strategy and advise you on the use of environmentally friendly packaging.
